Rhonda Routh McClung has been a TFCU member since she was 16 years old. When she saw TFCU’s “Thankful for You” call for nominations on Facebook, she knew who deserved to win a $500 Visa gift card. “I nominated my parents because they are awesome. They do a lot for me and I couldn’t be more grateful for the both of them,” said Rhonda.
Rhonda is a single mom with two kids and has experienced some health problems over the past three years. “My parents have helped me in so many different ways–financially, emotionally and with the kids. They’re just awesome. They’re great,” Rhonda said.
“She can make a dollar stretch further than anybody I know,” says Vicke, Rhonda’s mom. Rhonda was in shock when she found out her parents, married 52 years, won the contest. “We’re going to take her shopping and buy her a new iPad,” Rhonda said. “You can do your Christmas shopping in your pajamas on that thing!” said Vicke.
