TFCU member Robin Heinen nominated her daughter, Emmalee Luket, to receive a $300 TFCU Visa® gift card in the annual TFCU “Thankful for You” contest and won. Here’s how she described Emmalee, “This gal right here is the hardest working person I know. She took on a new teaching job while pregnant during a pandemic. She cares for, loves and protects other people’s children as well as her own.”
During the fall 2021 semester, Emmalee taught ninth grade at Yukon High School and worked as an athletic trainer. “Last year (2020-2021) was my first year of teaching and everyone said, ‘If you can survive this year, you can survive anything,’” said Emmalee Luke. “ you try to follow all of the rules and policies, but you also try to make it as normal as you can for the kids because they’re nervous too.”
Robin and her husband have been TFCU members since 2003 when they got their first home loan at the credit union. She was following TFCU’s social media in November when she heard about the “Thankful for You” contest and nominated Emmalee. What Robin didn’t know is that she would also win a $100 TFCU Visa® gift card for spreading gratitude. “I admire all teachers, but especially mine,” said Robin.
When Emmalee heard she won the prize she said, “I was so excited and thankful because we all know, teachers don’t get into this for the money. I feel very honored to be nominated and selected.”
