For Stephanie Peery, the last year’s been a big emotional and physical struggle. One giant bright spot has been her sister, Jamie Lane. “This past year has been a whirlwind of doctor appointments, surgeries and emotions,” said Stephanie. “Jamie stepped up to the plate to be there for everyone one of them—whether in person, in spirit, or taking on the care of my son when I was not able to because of my cancer.”
During chemotherapy treatments when Stephanie was starting to lose her hair, Jamie shaved her head, too, to show even more unity in her sister’s cancer battle. “She shaved her head with me so it would be so scary for my five-year-old son, Hunter,” said Stephanie.
To show her appreciation for her unconditional love, Stephanie nominated Jamie to win a $300 Visa® gift card in TFCU’s “Thankful for You” social media contest. “She embodies the true meaning of family. I love her so much,” said Stephanie.
Together, Stephanie and Jamie received a total of $400 in Visa® gift cards from TFCU. “We plan to use the money to do something fun with the family, like laser tag.”
