How TFCU is Protecting Members and Employees During the COVID-19 Outbreak
As a Tinker Federal Credit Union member, your well-being is extremely important to us. TFCU is actively monitoring the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Novel Coronavirus/COVID-19, and we are following the CDC guidelines to appropriately respond to this public health threat. Further, we are taking precautions, outlined below, to protect our members and employees. TFCU has an active team monitoring the spread and impact of this virus. This team is leaning on a well-developed business continuity plan that is reviewed and tested regularly at TFCU.
How you can help:
- Understand the COVID-19 facts. Follow the CDC’s recommendations to help you and your family stay safe.
- We encourage you to take advantage of our remote options (online, mobile and telephone account access) to limit your exposure and the exposure of our employees and other members.
- Regularly sanitize your debit and credit cards or consider using digital, contactless payment options instead. Reduce or eliminate your use of cash, when possible.
What TFCU is doing to protect our members and employees:
- We have increased cleaning and sanitization of our branch facilities and ATMs.
- We have provided employees with best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses or illnesses.
- We have limited meetings and other public events, and we have established procedures for staying home if sick.
- We have temporarily waived fees for online and phone payments – Make a payment
- CUSC/CO-OP Shared Branch transactions can temporarily be completed in the drive thru – Find a participating TFCU location
At this time, normal branch hours of operation are in place. FAQs:
How is TFCU cleaning branches?
TFCU uses professional cleaning companies to provide hospital grade cleaning services in our branches and branch restrooms. These companies use commercially approved cleaning products to ensure objects and surfaces are thoroughly sanitized and disinfected on a regular basis.
What is TFCU doing to reduce exposure?
In addition to frequent cleaning, all branch locations have hand sanitizer available for member use, and we are encouraging best practices among our employees such as frequent and regular hand washing and refraining from touching the eyes, nose and mouth. We encourage members to use our online services in support of social distancing best practices. TFCU has suspended offering coffee for the membership in addition to removing the SaveAbles Kids Club treasure chest from the lobby to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 until further notice.
Should I be concerned about handling cash?
While we will gladly provide you with cash at our branches and ATMs, limiting your exposure to the exchange of cash is recommended as a best practice. Instead, please consider using a regularly sanitized TFCU debit or credit card, BillPay, mobile wallet services (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay) and other contactless payment options.

Additionally, TFCU is financially strong, and we don’t anticipate serious negative impact to our financial standing. In good times and bad, we make sure TFCU maintains a level of capital that can weather almost any storm.
What is TFCU’s position on wearing facemasks?
TFCU follows CDC recommendations regarding facemasks. If you are sick, CDC recommends you wear a facemask when you are around other people and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not sick, you do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are unable to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and should be saved for caregivers. If TFCU employees prefer to wear a facemask, we will not prevent them from doing so. Source.
